Hoorah for Holiday Weekends!

I am so glad for this weekend even though I am not going anywhere or sending summer off with a bang unless you consider a Bang to include - a wedding, eye doctor appointment, grocery shopping and hanging out with some friends.

It's my lull between my current project and my next project. I'm starting my new project on Wednesday! Fun Fun! Stay tuned for more on my weekend as it progresses.

Mac Bake

Since I'm going on the road this week I made Jay some Mac Bake so he has something he can heat up easily while I'm gone. We used to make a version of this back when I was at CB - I like mine with brocoli too Jay no to so much.
Ingredients
1 lb of Elbow Mac Cooked
8 oz Veletta Cheese melted
1/2 cup Motzarella Cheese Shredded
3/4 lb of Cooked Ham chopped
3 slices toasted bread (crumbled)
1/2 cup Broccoli (option)
Normally I would make this in two 8x8 casserole dishes and freeze one but I used the big one tonight so Jay has several meals to fix in the microwave. You mix everything but the bread crumbs and about a 1/4 the motzarella cheese in the casserole dish mix. Then you sprinkle the bread crumbs and the remaining cheese on top and pop it in a 375 degree oven for 30-45 minutes until it's golden brown on top. If your guy like Jay doesn't like his broccoli then you can cook that seperate and mix it in to your portions.

Tuesday 10 - 10 things that don't need to be New

Well I am in lack of a topic today so I thought I'm taking this from something I read online a while back about 10 Things you Shouldn't buy New, my list is similar yet a little different. Don't get me wrong I love some NEWness too but I needed a topic for today.

10 Things that Don't Need to Be New:

  1. Cars - I love my "new" to me used cars and it was much cheaper. Something to note do research before you buy.

  2. Furniture - I love old furniture I only have a few things that we bought brand new. although somethings like matresses should be bought NEW. I am however always on the look out for the perfect sofa that I never seem to find.

  3. Books - Hello Used Bookstore and library sale - I love you (and I rarely read reading books).

  4. Gifts - not just regifting but repurposing something is also fun.

  5. Games - I love to get games at yard sales I think we have 5-6 games that I bought for like $0.25 each good ones too.

  6. Puzzles - Who cares if they are missing a piece so long as it's not the corner.

  7. DVD/CDs - I love a good used DVD or CD and my wallet likes the pricetags and just an FYI that movie rental places will often clean them from scratches for you.

  8. Jewelery - I don't really wear this but I like things with a little history and character.

  9. Houses - I really like old houses too. Sure it's a little more maintenance but before long new is old anyhow.

  10. Fill in the Blank - I ran out of things to list so fill in the blank with something I forgot.

Happy Tuesday my oven is beeping I better go check on supper.

Fun site...

I found this website and thought I would share it they have some super fun things for the office. I mean how can you not need puncuation markers or pet and zoo rubberbands?

Tagged again.

Janelle tagged me so here we have it.

eight facts about me
"The rulz: Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog."
  1. I had thimbleberry jam on a bagel for breakfast.
  2. I haven't worn socks since April.
  3. I have been to the post office 3 times this week. Perhaps I should have had all my packages ready to go at the sametime.
  4. My toothbrush is purple.
  5. I have a habit of hitting snooze.
  6. I love a good accent.
  7. I have 5 chefs coats in my closet.
  8. The milk in my fridge is not expired. (Milk tends to expire in there.)

I'm not going to tag anyone else because it's far to late.

Who doesn't love polka dots?

I am crazy about them these days. So of course I had to google them check out some of these cool things I found. Look at these cute shoes not identical to my red ones and they are only $12.99. How cute is this little guy? Red and white polka dot luggage (this would not be mistaken for someone elses I think it's a necessity for those who travel so I intend to ask for it for christmas. If I actually did dishes by hand I might have to have these. Polka dot plates - oh my. Polka and eco-friendly too. Okay so these dots aren't true polka but how can you not want a dot toaster? Or what about rain boots. Your very own polka dot barware.

Okay so I'm a little bit obsessessed but please note I didn't buy any of this stuff yet I'm thinking though I might ask for all christmas presents to come in polka this year.

Photo Blogs

Since I've already posted twice today I thought I would try one more just for good measure. Here's a couple of cool photo blogs. Check them out. Tara's is probably my favorite because everything is always so cheerful. And there's this one that has some awesome scenry. And I like this one because it's not always beautful people but the photographer makes them seem interesting. There's this lovely one not everything is bright and sunny which makes things interesting. Interesting sky shots here. And it would just be wrong if I didn't mention vals photos they are great too. And here's one more just for fun.

The start of my art journal

Here's a few of the backgrounds that I've done so far... I did quite a few more but I don't want to spoil the fun of revealing things little by little ;)

This one is masking tape I did it yesterday i'm already loving that masking tape I bought at Target yesterday.
Here's one that I painted bright yellow in a diagonal motion (nothing fancy).

And here's a page I already put together. Lots more writing than I intended.
And another one. Check it out BFFs. The Black frame is actually an enveople window it came in the mail the other day with some junk and I couldn't resist saving it. Makes a perfect little frame. Check out Ali Edwards blog for other fun things with envelopes.

Tuesday 10 - Hey Baby it's HOT outside!

Well I have been spending most of my spare thoughts today on what I should make today's list about (please note I didn't have many spare thoughts as someone keeps interrupting them). But anyhow I came up with some great ideas but since it's so dang HOT outside none of them seemed better then making a list of things I like to do when it's HOT outside.
Tuesday 10 - Hey Baby it's HOT outside!
  1. Stay Inside (there's a novel idea)
  2. Eat Ice Cream - how can you not love some ice cream.
  3. Keep some waters in the freezer so when I'm ready to drink them they are nice and frosty!
  4. Go to the swimming pool (I think it's too hot for this even my pale skin would fry up).
  5. Run to the car and blast the AC pointing all the vents at me.
  6. Go to the State Fair - Unforunately I won't get there until the weekend though sorry Lita.
  7. Take nice cold showers.
  8. Curl up in a sweater in my office building (it's usually about 65 degrees in there).
  9. Sweat.
  10. Dread going outside as it makes me think about sweating.

Dear Crazy Co-Worker -

Get your act together! I don't want to do your job and mine. Stop pushing the clients buttons. Stop pretending like you don't get it. Stop acting like a loon. Stop calling me crying. Put your big girl pants on and deal with the unruly client and get the work done!

Thanks!

Your Truly,

Katie

PS Hopefully you get the picture soon or else I'm guessing you will be let go.
