The weekend...

I know I have been a bad blogger I missed this Tuesday's Tutorial - I thought about it but I have been sick all week. This week I plan to share something super fun. Anyhow - I thought I'd give you a little weekend recap. This weekend was Steve's last weekend with us so we went out Friday. ('m going to miss having him around he was a nice addition to our family and he's going to miss us too). Anyhow we went to Kilroy's IU's headquarters for the Big 10 Tournament which was here in Indy - I found my crappy camera so I was able to take photos again. Check it...
You can get your drink in a pitcher - people who take dayquil probably should not order this kind of cocktail.
This is me trying to be all kinds of cool and Steve is getting into it as well but Ash - she's looking cute.

I found a stikman on Maryland Ave - I'm probably lucky I didn't get run over when I found him as I stopped to take this photo with on coming traffic.
On Saturday - we lounged around a bit and said our goodbyes to Steve. Then we watched Precious - which was good but not that good. Matt came to hang out with us and we went downtown to meet Kim and Sammie for some Jillian's entertainment. Jono was the best basketball game player seen all day - he was kicking butt against the whole bar not just us, Sammie is the Deal/No Deal Queen, I was pretty good at skee-ball and Matt beat me hands down at the shooting game (I had negative points) - Kim was pretty good at watching us. Like an idiot I only took like 5 photos. But here are two that are not completely crap.
Jono focusing on B-Ball
Sammie - throwing down with me on air hockey - I won once and let her win once.
Then not photoed we went to dinner at spaghetti factory - the cream soda was delightful. We saw Green Zone - which was pretty good (although I doubt it will win any academy awards) - sometimes it's fun to see action movies on the big screen.
Today - off to a late start - the time change surprised me - I always feel as though I can't remember when we change time and today was no different I'm all out of whack. Matt and I went to Peppys for brunch - it was pretty much standard diner food nothing to special or fancy. Afterward we went to Midland and found nothing special although I thought about a drafting table and a trunk but walked away from both for various reasons. Now I'm planning on working a little and then perhaps doing the rest of my laundry. Hope you had a good weekend and here's to a good week!

Adventures in Every Day Life with JJ Jones

JJ Jones came to visit this last week - it was the worlds quickest visit - we already miss him. Anyhow we played some cards, had family dinners, went out for drinks, took a roadtrip to Hamilton, Ohio and just hung out. I was probably the biggest picture taking slacker seen all weekend I think JJ took more pics with his iPhone that I did with either of my cameras. Anyhow here's some pictures from our adventures have a great sunday.
Lovely Sign seen in Hamilton Ohio.
outside jungle jim's - this is a cool grocery store - I picked up some ostrich burgers, interesting beers, asian foods, alligator and kangaroo jerky, fruits and veggies - although all in all - I think that the asian markets, and latino stores are just as good although - perhaps less interesting of stores.
There's a tourist bus that drops people off there - no joke.
I couldn't resist this one - we have the pay day loan/gun/pawn shop right next to the smoke and liquor store - however nobody stopped so I could check it out.
We got the whole jones & co crew plus some and went to Shallo's after a dinner at the house - Lita came with us since it's a restaurant too. I couldn't find a beer that I liked even with their 100 selections - I do not care for Hard Gumball or Midas touch beer thanks for drinking them Jono and Steve.
I can't be normal in any picture ever - here's some evidence to such. I can appreciate that Matt/Johnny Damon also is making a face.
Jono and Ash - aren't they too cute.
Here we are trying to be like schreve - matt, katie, alicia - what do you think?
JJ and Schreve - I just think this is too cute!
There were some old fashions - (just the smell of it from the other end of the table was making me ill) - Jono, Lil Schreve, Steve, Schreve - say those names 10 times fast.
And a whole "group shot - this just cracks me up - it took like 5 minutes to get everyone to actually smoosh together so we could fit in the same frame - but we did it!
Til next time!

I'm back already...

I'm avoiding working can you tell? Anyhow I'm up on Jen's Blog today you can read about it here. Thanks for having me Jen! She said the nicest things about me.
Oh and while I was posting I thought I would share some of my new Pyrex - I got this of this lovely blue - 5 pieces! - doesn't it match my ugly counters nicely? Too bad I'm planning to replace them. And I also got these pieces. That pink one is my favorite I cannot wait to make something in it.
and I got a few other ones too but I don't have a nice way to display them so this is all you get. I wish I had nice display shelves to store them on - but instead I moved my canning supplies to the empty cupboard above the fridge - I make jam 1-2 times a year anyhow.

Tuesday Tutorial - Mashed Potatoes

So tonight I was telling Jono and Steve that I was going to show them how to make mashed potatoes and Jono thought it should be the tutorial. So here it is (thanks to guys for taking the photos).

Oh and this is one of my new Pyrex dishes I got this weekend - isn't it the cutest! I wish I could have found cereal bowls like that. I will share a few more pics of the Pyrex later.

Look he has been to Indy...

gretchen found one in Indy on Penn - I guess I need to be on the look out here too! Thanks for telling me gretchen. FYI she also makes beautiful quilts - check out her flickr. back later with a tutorial.

Stikman

after wondering why I keep seeing all the "little men" all over boston I decided to just google it and see what came up and check it. I found it - he's called Stikman - and apparently he's all over the US - in Brooklyn, DC, Chicago, Hollywood - check some sightings out here. Anyhow I am just so excited to find out more because this has been bugging me.
**Updated** - Jodie - I have only seen them in Boston but my guess is if the artist has been to Indy there are some there - however generally Indy is not "street art" friendly it's too clean.

Tuesday Tutorials - How to be a "Man on the Street"

I bet you were wondering if I had forgotten Tuesdays? I didn't I just lost my point and shoot camera and had to bust out my old old old camera (but I acutally like it better aside from the size of it). Anyhow this week's Tutorial was a fast one because I'm sleepy but I want point out that in my "man on the street" reporting I found more of these little men some really cool not just painted ones now. Shout out to Tracy and Amol who came with me on the street today. :D Anyhow here it is...

have I ever told you

that i love the Olympics?
surely i must have. what is not to love! anyhow i LOVE them and I have gotten to see a little bit each day although I am sad to say I missed the ski jumping. going to the olympics is on my list of things to do before I die - I should have gone this year and I have thought about hoping in a plane and just going but then I remember to be practical perhaps 2012 in london.
