3 years Jones Boy!

Holy cow!  3 years old.

This is three and it's so fun!

yes my child is repping a single sock and his pride robot shirt with his red sweatshorts.

He dresses himself most days now and the struggle is real.

He also calls these pumas his "memorial day shoes" because they are red white and blue.

He is always super into the dinosaurs at the museum and says hello and bye bye everytime.

He asks me a bazillion questions like what do dinosaurs eat, where do they sleep, when will they come to my house etc etc it's so tiring.

He also insists some answers I provide to his life lessons are wrong.

His current favorite food is cherries, he likes 80s-90s pop in the car, he requests we read transformers and Pete the cat.

He is swimming more and more and getting more proficient.

He gives me this cheesy smile when I ask him to smile for pictures.

He is potty trained except overnight.

He loves plants and is interested in gardens.

He asks to make "projects" aka crafts usually daily.

He has such a sharp memory.

He enjoyed his birthday.

He declares things his favorite.

He often will ask "this or that" and then waits for you to respond.

He snuggles me when he's tired.

He will kiss my forehead when he deems that it's needed.

I love you so much jonesy.

Mommy

Jonesburf 28 months (posted late)

Jonesy -
Daily is a fun adventure in the life of a toddler.
You have joy in the silliest things.
You love life with almost everything you have it's so amazing.
We have conversations real conversations.
You often ask me about where dinosaurs are? (Thanks pumpkin patch).
We also talk about the weather and the seasons lately.  You ask about the leaves and why it's dark.  We say "winter is coming" as if we were in Game of Thrones.
We talk about how to be a friend and that hitting is a no no and sharing is a must.
We build things with blocks, Legos and other toys.
It's so neat to watch your imagination.  The other day you made a choo choo train castle and a monkey was the conductor and you fed him pretzels and then took him to the bank to money.  It was so great to see you come up with the story.
The next day you had your people out.  You determined ranger Joe and the farmer wanted to swing and you reminded them as you were pushing them that the swing was really for babies and you had asked for a Christmas present swing for big boys. And then you added "Christmas is in a little bit."

You have such a sharp memory you recall things I told you a week ago.
You often ask where is Thea if she's not with us.
And you try to include her.  Asking if she wants to play and offering her toys you don't want.
You pick her up too and try and carry her.
We started sleeping you in your big boy bed last month and you own it.  You don't even get out of bed when you wake up instead you call me.
Your potty training is a constant struggle we have several good days and then boom back to using the pull ups.
You have recently only wanted to eat protein and fruit I am not sure why but I can't even entice you with macaroni or French fries.  Silly kid.
You are grow up so fast little man.
Love always mommy
And my favorite on includes Thea.

You have started picking Thea up to carry her.  Surprisingly you can.
You are doing much better with the potty.
You love to paint especially with your hands and belly.
You are very curious about new things.
You spot something that's new everytime we change something or put a letter on the table.

Favorite foods - gum, chili, apples, and pretzels, beef sticks.

Mommy loves when you talk to Thea to tell her what we are doing or where we are and how you try and help her.
Daddy reads you skippy jon jones and chicka chicka boom boom every night and you point out your favorite parts.
Love you so much mommy
Photos were taken at a local graffiti wall.  While we were there some photographers with big mega camera were also there, I think with a local hip hop star and they asked to take jones's picture too. So of course I let them.  He thought he was a big deal. (My better images were taken on my big camera (which was not so impressive next to theirs) but alas I am too lazy to upload them right now).

Jonesburf - 25 months

This month has been of highs and lows a little lull in between.  Photos taken at a wall inside Traders Point Church.  I saw it and I just decided to snap pictures and jones complied for a minute anyhow.
Dear Jonesy -
This month we hit some of the terrible twos.  And I must admit I cannot stand the whiny boy.  But boy if you are tired, hungry or just dead set on something the whiny kid shows up.  But then 10 minutes later my sweet boy is back.  It is such a challenge, especially as your sister has issues sleeping and only wants to nurse with mommy.
You are such a little talker, we converse about everything.
You remember everything too.
We talk about being brave and not crying at school.  And you remember to tell me if you were brave and didn't cry.
We talk about what color things are.
And where is daddy, Thea, grandma, or anyone not in the room.
You started at your new school and you are said Miss Charmaine is not there but you are fond of Miss Ashley your new teacher.
You are in the panda room and working on potty training.
You don't like getting dropped off and ask the teachers 100 times where's mommy where's daddy and usually you answer the question for them.
You also like to ask if you can stay home and miss Kari can come over (we wish buddy we wish).
You discovered you like raisins and we like to use them like a treat.
You run, jump, climb and do summersaults.
You love to wrestle in the living room and will often drag out all the pillows and the blankets to set up a mat.
You love Thea.
You often tell her it's okay she doesn't need to cry.
You try and give her a bottle or a blanket.
You offer her snacks and tell mommy that she wants baby cereal when you think she's hungry.
You sometimes are so shy but other times you run right up to people and hold their hand or ask to sit on their lap.
You are such a joy my little Jonesy.
Love mommy

Dear Jonesy -
Holy cow you are two little man.  You are so full of energy, joy and spunk.  You make each day better but it's always a challenge.

You run, jump, walk backwards, sideways and waddle. You love ball any kinds but especially basketball.  Each day  we play between two and four ball related games. You often dance to music or no music but you wiggle your hips all the time.
You like building blocks and crafts.  And we paint, draw, do beads, playdoh and sticks regularly.
You absolutely love to go out.  Favorite places are downtown, target, museum, and the park.  And let's not forget live music any event with music and you are so in.

You love parties.  Weddings. Birthdays.  New babies.  Any excuse for party and you are all signed up.  (Birthday party post coming).
Thea is your pal.  You explain to her where you are, tell her it's okay, try to comfort and breast feed her.  You are a very serious big brother.
We digress on potty training, and have had several episodes of "No" or times where timeout was necessary.
Mommy is so excited watching you mature and change.  I love you to the moon and back at enjoy when you grab my face for a hug and a kiss.  I also like that you still want to be carried and snuggled.
Love love love. Mommy
These photos were taken with a wall at The Tube Factory they are less that perfect and most were super blurry and I had to change his pants into unmatching basketball shorts before I snapped them because he had an accident, but real life people real life.

Dear Jonesy -
You are 22 months and so full of Joy.
Everything is exciting.
The day I took these photos you woke up from your nap and requested "party".
"Yes" I said we decided to go to the park and out to dinner for "party".
At the park you climbed the big kid ladder like a boss.  Holy cow you are getting so brave.
You still love ball especially "hoop ball", but you are so into soccer too you ask me every day about soccer.
You have a new found interest in noises outside birds, rain, wind etc.
You love going to feed the ducks.
You speak in sentences.
I am slowly breaking you of wanting to watch Elmo by replacing it with other fun activities.
You still like to call someone everyday.  You usually associate them to their relation to cats aka "meows".
You learned to open doors recently and opened your bedroom door and the fridge door (lookout).
You love it when I pick out a shirt with a ball on it.
We read Old McDonald had a Farm and Wheels on the bus in heavy rotation. (You like to sing along with them).
You love to use glue sticks, eyeballs, and scissors in craft projects.
You also throughly enjoy live music and are thrilled when we go someplace where there's a band.
You try and negotiate with me on things like snacks or goodies requesting 2 marshmallows not one or two stickers not one.
You sign please rather than say it.
And you continue to call auntie Kathleen more daddy although you have learned to say "KATHY" instead of Kathleen.
You love Nana and Lita like crazy and often cry for them to come back when they leave.
You call Uncle JJ Deedee or DayDay and uncle Rob You call Row.  You have also started requesting to call them on the phone when nana or Lita aren't answering.
