Chris visits the Midwest (Da Weekend Part 3)

Here it is the next weekend and I'm still blogging about last weekend. Well thus is life sometimes.
Anyhow I got up extra early after our night out and like Speedy Gonzalez or Duff the cafe guy decorated a Penguin cake so I could jet to Dayton to pick up JJ and Chris.   This was Chris's first time to the Midwest for the first time this weekend (well aside from Chi-Town and probably airport layovers).  I think he might have been surprised about how flat everything was.  And he didn't even get to see the real serious flatness since we didn't have time for a trip to Indy. But we took him to lots of the spots we grew up including what used to be under the water tower and the cannon in Oxford.  We also saved someone in the parking lot at Walmart which is just so Midwesterner.  We had Jay's slushies, ice cream from UDF and grilled out at moms.  And we even somehow managed to figure out how to get 8 people up and ready for church at 9 with one bathroom - hello awesomeness of big families.  As always it was so good to spend time with our crew and it made me wish it was family vacation time in July already.  Anyhow enough ramble let's get to some pictures...
I think I have mentioned that we keep disguises in my car because you never know when you are going to need to hide yourself in a crowd or go on the lamb - well this is one of them.  This is my alter-ego Jane.
Here we are riding an un-proportional cow.
JJ disguised as well JJ of 14 years ago.  (These glasses were his once upon a time and I'm certain he would like us to stop playing with them).
Super Jones & Coers at Walmart here we are helping these people out.  Look at Chris working hard jumping this car.   (Oh wait we only let them borrow my jumper cables from my car - which mind you had never been used).
I love this photo of JJ and Chris (to the Wall!)
Oh and Max was there too.
 Chris having some skyline chili
 JJ and I joining him.
Chris and I staged some scenes for people of walmart while picking up last minute party supplies.  (This is where JJ pretended he didn't know us and probably rightly so).
Look at how helpful my cables were we got this that lady in the flip flops home.
Me and JJ (this is almost a cute photo aside from my sweaty armpits and those hairs of mine that feel like kicking it sideways).
And here we are doing the JJ.  Which is a photo where you cock your head and look at someone.
Proof we went to Liberty.
I don't know why but I liked this photo.  At some adventure or function I'm going to take all my photos from the ground even if people don't have heads.
We did a series of timer shots in the square in Oxford - sadly most of them look like this.  Half of us have narcolepsy.
Hands are misplaced.
Someone looks annoyed forgetting this is fun!
Or I just spoil it. Oh well.
Lita say thumbs up!
Despite the over exposure of this photo I like this one so I couldn't not include it in the set.

The final installment of Da Weekend Recap coming soon.

Happy Birthday Jordy (Da Weekend Part 2)

This weekend was also Jordan's Birthday a big birthday at that.  So of course in Jones fashion we had to take him out.  So we took him first to some random joint in Fountain Square which was a total dive place but cute and rather inexpensive at least compared to Boston. After stint there we had a craving for some Margs and so we went to only the best place to get them - Cheeseburgers. I think I might have mentioned this before but there frozen margs are awesome you will want more than one and sometimes you let yourself have more than one.  If I did or not I'm not telling.   Anyhow here are some of the snaps.
Bri-town shows us the mustard.
I think I need a Landshark chair or 10.
I love this photos of Jono & Smash but I haven't a clue who is that lady back there.  I don't even think she was the server.
This one cracks me up.  Look at the Schreve back there - he might be the only one who know the camera was snapping.
This one is a good one of my bro and his lady.
And bri-town and schreve
Happy 21 Jordy!

And we had a group shots taken because everything must be documented in it's entirety (Bri-town I do not even care if you think this is ridiculous because when I'm dead 1000 years someone will be able to tell my story in photos).
And everyone including moi.
So this shot is lovely just for the pure amusement of it.  Me + the Big Guy (aka Schreve) drinking beverages with that come with umbrellas - we are not even on the ocean.
Oh and the perfect Marg which comes with a side of patron.
More to come stay tuned.

Italian Street Fair aka get me off this Ferris Wheel (Da Weekend Part 1)

One of my favorite events of the summer is the Italian Street Fair. I mean seriously encouraged wine drinking in the streets no less and good food and my love of ferris wheels.  It's only one of the greatest events in Indy all summer long.  I am so glad the fam has embraced it too.
This year was no exception.  We packed up the SUV bringing our own wine and picnic blankets and headed to the fair.   There was free live music that we listened to while enjoying our tortellini or sausage or whatever everyone got.  Of course we must rode the Ferris wheel - note this is NOT the Schreve's favorite activity - apparently Ferris Wheels are not really intended for big guys.  But being a good sport he climbed aboard with Alicia.  Just after Jono and Ash got on the operators started this back and forth back and forth back forth back forth movement because the Ferris Wheel was off balance - YIKES.  Well of course they still put Jordan and I on and then more of this back and forth back and forth.  And then they took Ash and Jono and Jordan and I off.  And poor Schreve was yelling at them to take him off and they didn't even do him until last - he was so pissed - I thought he might bust the guys head in when he got off but he did not.  Unfortunately this chain of events ruined our plans for good picture taking on ferris wheels but I did get a handful although no kissing at the top of either of my siblings and their girls.  After we got our redo ride minus one Schreve  We were ready for some drinking and our old friend Bri-town joined us, for just this and of course we documented every moment.   So we cracked open a bottle of champagne which 6 people put away like it was going out of style naturally. Now for some snappity snaps...
Jordan and Schreve oh Schreve what is this attitude.
Me ready for some Ferris Wheeling.
Schreve and Alicia ready for some Ferris Wheeling (this was perfect lighting when we were snapping these shots I only wish we had taken more)
On the ferris wheel pre-balance issue.  I love this despite it's out of focus.
Back forth back forth and Schreve getting upset a little.
The  sunset and the city.
The fair and the church it takes place near.
More schreve annoyance and Ash has her eyes closed.  I however am rocking our car to take these photos and Jordan is cool as a cucumber.
More frustration and poor old Ash is holding on for her life.

I couldn't get them to look at me or kiss no matter if I texted or yelled
Alicia back on the ground and Schreve gone probably throwing up.
Another go round in a new car.
Going in for the kiss
A celebration of our return to the ground.
Me and the Schreve post ferris wheel (what the hell is up with my hair?)
Sack slide time - Jordan clearly didn't realize this was a race to the death.
Picnicking Jono
Jordan having veggie lasagna
Alicia looking all cute and stuff.
Us in Jono's glasses I loved this and I wish I had zoomed in more.
Cake eating
Chit chatting
I love this one of Jono and Ash
Two brothers
Schreve, Jono, Jordan acting cool drinking their wine.
3/5 of Jones and Co siblings - this is so us it's not even funny - never serious.  I love you guys.
