Big Gus! - The largest running chainsaw.  Yep that's right.
Giant Water Pump

Oh and a less impressive large rifle.

Away I Go!

Because I can never sit still. And because we deployed our system this week. I am taking a weekend in new england. Nevermind the looming hurricane that is putting a damper on the pool party. Or the sore throat that I cannot shake. I am still having good times.

Last of the UP Trip - UP Vacation Part 4

I don't have a lot of words to go with this post. I had all these grand intentions of writing something. But then once I uploaded it I had nothing in my head anymore.  These are what remains of the photos I'm going to share from my UP Trip. If you want to see more of the trip check out Thea's Blog she's posted about our super nice cabin, and I'm sure she'll have more to post soon as well.
JJ and Lynley on EH beach.

Tuesday 10 - Loves this week in August

1. Chevrons. I want to make a chevron quilt - Blocks from Cluck Cluck Sew
2. Discovering that Janet Jackson's Escapade is $.69 on iTunes this month (you better believe I bought that).
3. Toy Camera Tuesday's on Miss Indie's Blog - I must admit I'm kind of jealous of her toy cameras I want an instax, helga, and juice box (of course the practical side of me says just download another iPhone app.
4. This t-shirt from Noisebot with the exception of my friend Rachael I'm not sure anyone really loves push-ups.
5. Sleeveface with Jay Jones.  Nobody does Englebert Humperdink like me.

6. Making things with items grown in my garden. Salsa below is made with tomatoes, peppers, and onions grown in the soil at the Bungalow.  It's so yummy!  Oh and Grandpa I put in extra onion this time thanks for the tip.

 7. This girl.  She's also the best root beer float maker ever!
8. These fabrics.  I don't like the entire line but I love the Bikes, and Airplanes.  It's called Children at Play.

9. The view from my doctors office.  You can almost see my house too.
10.  Having a few extra days at home.

Cousins - UP Vacation Part 3

#23 on my list is to spend some time with my cousins. I worked on this while in the UP. I think about 7 of us were there (including my siblings) so that enabled cousin time.  Most of my time was spent with Paul Jr. he's the cousin that is the same age as me so we were buddies growing up.  It was also good to spend some time with him as well as with Sara, Kelly, Tim, Colleen.  Anyhow here are a few of the "Cousins" pictures.
Lunch - Thea & Paul and Rachel, and Kelly and Momo
Grandpa and Sara
Tim
Kelly and Paul and I grilling - I was the Cheese assistant.  Which is a super important role where one puts cheese on burgers.   I know impressive.  Kelly was just our entertainment.

Tim and Taylor (not a cousin)

Swimming & Light House - UP Vacation Part 2

One of the things that happened on this trip was massive amounts of swimming. Every day in fact I went swimming even when the water was so icy it would take your breathe away. To me it's part of going to the UP. I love swimming off the rocks, swimming off the platform in Eagle Harbor, Swimming in great sandbay, swimming on the sandstone. It's delightful and refreshing.   Thea, Lita, Lynley and I were all in the swim club this year.  We really represented on the swim front.   The photos below were taken at this rock beach in Copper Harbor just across from Lake Fanny Hoe.  I love that you can see the Copper Harbor Light in the background.   This was the perfect day for swimming or drowning which is what it looks like I'm doing.  I'm actually touching my toes in the water splits style but you can't really tell.  LOL

We did a little rock climbing by our favorite light house too.  The sky was so perfect and you can't tell from these photos but it was so windy as a storm was brewing out on the lake.

The pose in front of the lighthouse shot here really didn't turn out as you can't see the lighthouse.  Whoops!  But you can see I wore my best hiking gear for this expedition.

More soon although I promise there will not be 1000 UP vacation posts as I really didn't take that many photos - the horror!
