May family photos

May was an extremely busy month one of my projects deployed and one of them was about to launch a new program, Dustin was extra busy at work despite the new schedule.  We also seemed to have lots of people staying at the house. But we squeezed in some family snaps so I love it.  Above dinner at Bynums another one also below more candid.
From the 500 parade.  Jones was watching the band not the camera.
A few family snaps from the park.  I love the imperfections of these.
Quick snap from our trip downtown one evening.  Note jones is eating a fortune cookie not smiling.
Mother's Day which all the attempts were  gems like this.
I hope we can capture as much amazingness in June.

#24 Burford and Co Trip Part 2

One of the things I had specifically wanted to do in Colorado was hot springs so we road tripped about 2 hours to steamboat springs.  The landscape was phenomenal on the trip there. We drove thru the mountains practically every turn I wanted Jono to stop except this would have prolonged the drive more.  We had previously selected Strawberry Springs as the hot spring to visit, because it looked the most natural.
Strawberry springs is literally off a dirt road up in the mountains and I imagine in the dead of winter you have trouble accessing it.  It's completely adorable although the lady at the desk was not super friendly.  We completely enjoyed ourselves and the springs jones included.   There was snow on the ground but the springs were warm enough you were not cold getting in and out.  My advice is though to pack a meal and drinks as there's no restaurant or food or drinks onsite and you are thirsty in the springs.  Next time I think it would be fun to stay in a caboose or cabin.
We also did some shopping.  Jonesy got three pairs of shoes on this trip in various sizes.  Jono and Lo also got some fancy things.  I bought only a Christmas ornament because I didn't want to figure out packing!
And there were big things like the big dog made from dog tags

And the big chair and the big sweep.
It' was a good trip I cannot wait to go back and see more amazing places.

#46 - Activity with Jayda - Paint Chip Mosaic

Jayda is our friends daughter she likes to come over for crafts.  A few weeks ago I was babysitting her and we did a craft project with paint chips it was super simple.
1. Cut up paint chips
2. Arrange on a post board (we actually reused a calendar my mom gave me)
3. Glue down
4. Boom mosaic!

325/1000 Miles

So far more disappointment in May I logged only 90 miles towards my 150 goal.  This put me at 325 for the year.  I am happy to report however that I did get about 15-30 active minutes in probably 75% of the time.  I also discovered that pushing the stroller doesn't count steps for my Fitbit accurately as Nike records distance with the GPS and what was like 2.5 miles in the Nike app was only showing as 1.5 in Fitbit.  Whomp whomp!
With this new found knowledge I have now been not pushing the stroller with my left hand and/or I will attach the Fitbit to my foot when we go on walks with jones.  I am going to shoot for 150 for June as well despite the fact that yesterday I left my Fitbit hanging on the towel rack and this morning it was dead. Summer is here so we should be able to make up ground.  Anyhow onward and upward.

Book 48 - Not That Kind of Girl

Not that Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham - was my latest book finish.  This book was a super fast read as it reads like short stories.  While I appreciated the humor found in some of these stories, and it was well written, I kind of wanted to tie them all together more.  It's also a little vulgar in parts which whoever recommended it to me did not mention.  Some of the stories are a easy to relate to others not so much, something about it also reminded me a little of Seinfeld like a female vulgar Seinfeld anyhow 4 more for 52!

Day In the Life 5/14

Last Year I captured 14 photos every 14th day of the month.  This year I gave up that idea but I did capture one day although I am not sure I took 14 photos. Anyhow this was a completely normal day for us.
I got up around 6:15 and went to work which actually means grab my laptop and take it to the living to respond to emails.  Jonesy woke up almost immediately and wanted some formula.
He passed out again on my lap and I shifted him to beside me on the sofa and went back to emails.
I got him dressed and then he played while waiting for grandma to shower. At some point I move to the back to do more work and conference calls etc. I am working on finalizing and elearning and an engagement model.
At noon I hope into the shower and get dressed.
I have lunch with my baby which is pretty typical.  I think we have leftover tacos and blueberries.
Jones is not interested in hearing I am heading back to the office.
Back to work as you can see my desk is a hot mess.  I also have been drawing wuilt designs while on calls because sometimes you need to occupy your mind.
At about 4:30 I help grandma load her car up.
Daddy actually came home at a semi normal time.  Jones likes to greet him by snagging his work pens and snatching his glasses.
He also smashes his face on Dustin's beard like this.  It's too funny.
We ran a few errands then had dinner in fountain square.   We randomly bonded with two other families when we were the only customers in the place and our kids were all screaming.
We snapped a quick family selfie (ps I am doing pretty good with family shots in May).
At home again daddy gave jonesy a bath.  Mommy rocked jones to sleep.
Mommy quilted while daddy "watched tv" aka fell asleep on the couch.  Around 11:30 I went to bed and tried unsuccessfully to wake Dustin for him to join me.
Overall it was a pretty average day.
