Apples

Apparently I like to pick the hottest days to go pick apples.  It was crazy sunny and warm on Saturday but yet we hit the orchard.  We actually went to two orchard the first you pick was closed the second however was crazy full of apples for picking.
My kids love this activity and we brought home 1/2 a peck of apples, both green and red and various kinds.  The A&m farm were we actually picked was completely rustic and just a handful of people were picking it was almost as if we had the place to ourselves.
And now we plan to make apple crisp, and dried apples and apple muffins and more and now for a bazillion photos.

Tuesday 10 September

It’s time for a Tuesday 10.  I have missed making lists on here.  I have been thinking about it for months but then I never remember on A Tuesday so finally.
1. New Nike’s for me.
2. Sweater season is upon us!
3. Art drop projects with my kiddos

4. Art journals by toddlers.

5. The soccer season.  Jones seems much more familiar with the game this year and actually follows the ball.  Thea wishes so badly she could also play on the team, but they don’t offer it for her age yet here in Ohio next year.

6. Soup time!  Planning on making some kind of soup tonight maybe chicken noodle or white chicken chili.
7. My first finished art journal.  I plan to share more of it here soon.
8. This photo of four cousins at 6 months.  They don’t really look much alike though.

9. Second generation friendships.  This is the second year Jones and Owen are in school together.  Owen is the son of my brother’s best friend from grade school.  It’s so cool they are friends.

10. nearly done with the City Sampler Blocks I have like 31 to finish!  Here’s one of my favs.

last days of the Tri Pool

All summer long we have been hitting up the pool 2-4 days a week. We go so much I had to buy the kids many new suits because there was always one or two in the wash.  We have loved our pool pass.  We usually pack a snack and water bottles.  Sometimes we bring friends sometimes we meet them there.  And sometimes we have the place to ourselves.  And occasionally it’s crowded.  It’s been a great summer.
This is the last summer for the tri pool.  They are building a new fancy pool in the new city park.  This is the same pool I grew up going to.  So it’s filled with memories for both me and my kids. Anyhow we have loved it this summer and while the weather is like 90 degrees this week we wish it didn’t close for Labor Day.
Thanks for a great summer!
(Here are a few snapshots I took there this summer)

August Goals - Eye Doctor

One of my August goals was to hit the eye doctor this was mostly so I could get contacts.  But since I have some extra money in my HSA I bought new glasses and sunglasses too.  I actually bought two pairs of glasses but I must have left the others in the car so you can just envision what tortoise shell glasses look like.  I absolutely love the prescription sunglasses.  I wished they came in glasses too I would totally rock them either way.  Those are from Warby Parker and these red ones are Ray Bans - I am almost certain they were supposed to be charcoal and they didn’t order the right ones but I am too lazy to dig out my receipt and I still like them.
Ps.  I also got a year supply of contacts.  But I still wear my glasses 2 or so times a week.

First day of preschool age 2 & 4

First day of preschool age 2 (technically just daycare but she doesn’t want leftout).

She says:

Favorite color pink

She wants to be a “mermaid auntie” when she grows up.

Favorite thing at school “choo choo wagon and carly”, least favorite “don’t know”

Favorite food she said “goldfish”, but I know it’s really sauce she just saw the gold fish snack wrapper that she left in the car.

First day of preschool 4 aka pre-k.

He says his favorite color is red.

He wants to be a farmer when he grows up so he can grow all the things like apples and rainbow carrots.

What he’s looking forward to at school “his friends and slime”.

He is not looking forward to “nap time”.

Favorite food he said carrots and then changed it to CANDY.

Love them!

Theaburf 29 months

I stopped these since the lack of murals in rural Ohio.  But we saw a new one on the way home from B2S shopping and stopped.  So here is Thea in all her glory at age 29 months!

Thea at 29 months is into coloring and making art.  She likes True, Barbie, legos, swimming, dancing and babies.

She will talk your ear off, picking up phrases from you the first time she hears them.

She is fearless running headfirst into walls and drinking from puddles.

She doesn’t like bread but is super into most fruits and veggies.

She can’t wait for the illusive kindergarten (she’s a long way off).

She says v’s as b’s vegetables.

She is working on potty training and can’t wait to earn her mermaid by completing her potty chart.

She picked out “princess” pajamas school shopping and lost it when I tried to put them back.

She likes 25 cent gum machines.

She mixes patterns and loves flowy skirts.

She likes to wrestle and play ball.

Ahhhh my little Thea Lady!

Love mommy

Here’s one of the two of us.
