2022 cookies

My goal was to have at least 25 cookie tastings I just counted them up today and we are at 22.  I guess we need to get some more cookies before the end of the year stat.  Seems doable since I am not working until Jan 3rd.

1,200 miles November

Well there’s a little less than a month left so I wanted to share a November update.  Despite having 4 of the biggest mileage days in November I hit 102.66 which doesn’t come close to Aprils numbers.  But it does keep me on track to make 1200 in December with 1100.46 at the end of November.

21 - family vacation

This year for family vacation all my siblings and I traveled to Disney World.   It was to celebrate both thanksgiving and my mom turning 70 originally we were going to travel to Vegas and then plane tickets were insanely expensive.  So we opted for something equally as expensive Disney.
While it was much fun to be with my family I must say that Disney is not relaxing, at all I much prefer a beach vacation. I don’t really understand the appeal of it really.  While the rides are much more speed than Kings Island it was soooo crowded and hot and we walked about 8 miles each day.  Anyhow I tried not to be too Debbie downer and just enjoy the company and as usual that was my y favorite part.

Movie 5 Don’t Worry Darling

Watched another movie.  This movie was a bit lacking it was confused about what was happening and what time period it was and then it was like “hurry up and wrap it up” at the end like it only 1/2 explained it.  I actually almost turned it off several times but somehow I stuck with it.

Movie 3/4- enola Holmes 1 & 2

I actually tried to watch Enola Holmes a while back but fell asleep and when the second one came out I decided to watch them back to back.  I actually liked them both although they are a bit corny.  Millie Bobbie Brown is a delight and the story is cute.  And I like period movies costumes too.  Oh I do so love Helena Bonham Carter as well so that was an extra treat. I think my kids would have liked it as well so maybe we will put it in our movie jar.
I swear I also probably watched other movies this year but when I try to think of them I have nothing so I guess I better get a move on watching things.

October Miles

In October I had decent month with 105.7 miles.  There were actually several 8 miles days on there but also several days where I forgot to charge my watch or wear it so it seemed to balance out.  I am not at 997.8 miles which is decent I might just make this goal.

2 More Books

I finished signature of all things recently it was not really my favorite book but I stuck with it mostly because I abandoned like 45 books before this one.  I have much preferred some of Elizabeth Gilbert’s other books before this one.  Some of this one was really graphic.

And before that I read and finished this Christmas book Apple Cider Sleighing, it was really corny and not my type of book at all but it was a quick read and somehow I got thru it.
So that’s two more for my 12 I counted up my good reads totals for 2022 which I think is 7.  Which all told is not really great but I am considering it a win because honestly I have literally started like 75 books I have not finished yet.

1200 Miles September

September I had 108.8 miles.  It was a pretty good month.  And I am now at 892.7 miles towards my 1200 goal.  I am hoping with the better weather and the many activities in October to make up some ground but its questionable if I will make 1200.

Football

My kids are both involved with our local peewee football all league Jones plays and thea is a cheerleader.  This consumes up soooo much of our evenings and weekends from like end of July on into October.
They both love it so much.  It’s been a great way for them to form close bonds with their friends as well as meet new people.  In addition they are learning sportsmanship.  This season thea is cheering for a winning team and poor Jones’s team has been struggling they have had only one win and that was when We had rona.

1200 miles Update July/August

In July I had 110.7 miles in August 81.  In August we also got Covid - blah.  September is back on track to be a bigger month already so hopefully I can make up some ground. Onward.

Book 4 - Slaughter House five

This was my pool read this summer.  And I was delighted to read at the pool this summer but I also found reading competing with socializing with many friends who we’d run into at the pool so this short book literally took me all summer to read and I barely finished it.  It wasn’t my favorite book, but I got it in the little free library and Kurt Vonnegut is from Indiana.  So it goes.

27 - someplace new

Technically I have been to Pittsburgh before, but honestly I remembered like nothing.  So I am considering this “new”.
I took the kids on a trip just by myself.  Pittsburgh is not terribly far from us and actually the drive is very much like 1/2 the drive to DC.
Each day we each picked things we wanted to do (from a list/or within reason), and we did that.  There were a few snafus like that “bicycle heaven” was more than a few minutes away, we got twisted around driving, and showed up to a historical site that was closed.
But otherwise everyone got to have a little of the things they like and we had many fun adventures.

One surprising thing that happened twice was screenprinting.  Warhol is from Pittsburgh and apparently we kept going places where randomly screen printing workshops were happening and we got to try it. My kids both enjoyed it and recommended we get our own speedball paint, pizza oven and screen.

1200 miles - June Update

In June I bought myself a new Apple Watch.  So the last few days of June which were crazy busy I did start resuming my 1,200 miles goal.  In June I logged a measley 25.9 miles.  Not impressive in the least bit but considering it was just 7 days of tracking that’s reasonable.
This takes me to the grand total of 511.2 miles for the year.  Onward and upward towards this goal.
(Photo unrelated but from our Kings Island trip in June).

15 Visit JJ and Rob

Do you remember back to May?
Ya me neither.  Lol
The last few months have Just zoomed past we have been so busy with camps, and friends and trips and fun!
But waaaay back in May we took a short trip to DC to see uncle JJ graduate from GWU.  It was a fun adventure.
While there we got to go to a new Smithsonian exhibit, the hirshorn and visit several cookie destinations.  Oh and we got to see auntie Kelly, uncle Andrew and Auntie Sarah too.  Delightful adventures were had it was the perfect short trip.

45 - The Wilds

Thea is a big fan of secrets of the zoo.  Part of it features the the wilds which is in Ohio.  This summer is the summer of our “short” trips and so when I decided to take my kids to Pittsburgh I saw that the wilds was like of on the way.   So we made it happen.  You can use the zoo reciprocal benefit for 1/2 price tickets which makes them reasonable.  The conservation park is the largest one in North America and it’s really very large.  We enjoyed it and out your guard was great.  Also to Thea’s delight she saw several animals from Secret of the Zoo as well as Kurt one of the zookeepers did from the show.
