Project Life January 2015

I wanted to simplfy things with Project life this year so I changed up the size. I am doing 6x8 pages.  The sleeves still come in a variety of options but there's a lot less pressure to print a million photos.  I think it can also potentially help me use up the kits I have (or not as I think I used like 1 cards so far.)  anyhow here are my pages for January nothing super fancy  mostly paper and stickers.
I also want to use the little bits of paper from our daily lives this year.  In January I failed at that.  I forgot and then found the stuff so I made one last spread and used extra pictures to fill it in since I only saved a wine tasting menu from date night, a envelope, a gold coin wrapper and a tag from a sweater.  But it works.

Project Life 2014 - August/September

I am not sure what the last project life pages were I shared.  Possibly July?  Maybe it was actually before that.  But rather than worry about it I am going to start sharing with August and September.  This were big months here I transitioned back to work, we took our first trips as a family of three, and we just generally cut our teeth at parenting.  Nothing super fancy about these August pages lots of baby photos and I used various size pages to mix it up.
I do also love these shots with Gerry Gobbler aka Dustin.  I left a spot for our ticket but I don't recall where I put it.
First wedding and road trip we took jones to Milwalkee remember that?  I did blog it right?
Moving into September I missed a photo of the front of September (oh well you better just come see my book in person).
We flew to DC so jones can see his people.  He had a great time and was such a good traveler.  The only fancy thing I did with these you can't really tell but I cut slits in the protector and added ribbon in the middle rather than at the sides.
I like these project life cards too that have a cut out to see the page behind too (Let's make Wine and our travels)
Uncle Jones and aunt Lo met jones too.  And we had family brunch and a picnic.
I took about a billion photos in September and August so it was hard to pick a few. I do love this family snap.  And also included here is a snap from the friendaversary cards I sent out.
Sorry for the crappy snaps sometimes the only time available is after your teething son is asleep.

Project Life 2014 - May

May was pretty much about the baby and our trip to Florida for Jono and Los wedding.  It was fun to use up saved items from the wedding to use in these pages I used everything from the flower cones to the table treat bag.  I mixed in some navy and pink scrap papers I had too to add some other colors for the rest of the month.
Most of my non vacation photos this month were rather dull I must admit.  There were a few highlights in there like baseball, babysitting and quilts!  Oh and that cutie Logan graduated.
My baby shower was in May but the photos were pretty sparse and mostly horrible shots!  Also we found lynley's wedding dress (hidden from all eyes for now).  Kathleen also gave me the bear sticker for some kind of foster care promotion.
And family vacation/wedding time.  I used a large family photo and cut it to fit in the sleeves.  I wish I had cropped it a little differently so heads weren't seperately but you know it happens. The doily is actually from the flower cones at the wedding.  I cut it into the right size and made it a card.
This spread is my favorite from may! I love some of the photos of my siblings and I like the little hearts left over from something from my wedding. And that veneer diamond is just fun.  And even the table treat coffee bag gives it some dimension.  Sorry it's a little blurry it's not in real life.
And last but not least the back side of the wedding spread plus my pocket page for all other saved things.  This month had a whole mess of things saved graduation invites, baby birthdays, and Jono and lo wedding things.

Project Life April

Finished up Project Life for April waaaay early this month.  I didn't take very many good photos since life was mostly just ordinary stuff.  But we celebrated our 1st anniversary, went to the WWE Live, finished a quilt, made some bread, worked on baby's room, baseball, puzzles and celebrated Kathleen's birthday.  I used some PL cards, a few buttons and a smidge of ribbon and these were done.  Printed all the photos on my home printer too.

Project Life 2014 - March

This month was mostly about our trip we did have some other regular life moments but I mostly added to project life photos from our trip.  I blew up a few pictures and then printed the rest on my new photo printer (ps I love doing it at home).
No real fancy techniques using the same calendar and Elsie printables. I also used some of my week in scraps I have been saving.
I love that photo strip of us it was hard to cut it in half.  I still may scan it for the wall.
I also chose to only use two of my 14on14 photos because sometimes that's all you need.

Project Life 2014 - February

I finally finished up my project life for February. I thought I would do one of those fancy triangle pages seen on Pinterest.  That proved way more complex then I had planned you really need to plan it well since you sew in the photos and paper.  But I like how the triangle pages turned out.
It's very interesting even though I had to trim off important bits of the photos.
I also made my own page protector to house the 14 on 14 photos this was also more challenging then I like but I love it (and then I only used 12 of the prints lol).

I have been saving bits of paper and cards etc and so I decided I would likely save all of these in a pocket page for each month.  So I created one it's just a regular 8.5x11 page protector sewn smaller so my cards and notes, and paint chips don't slide out as easily.  I hope to continue this for each month if I have interesting bits to include.
Anyhow that's February documented.

2014 Project Life January

I finished up my January spreads even though it's not quite February yet (I am giving myself these small liberties).  January was a whole lot of everyday life and home time, especially with all the snow, overtime and cold cold cold.  Highlights from the month include - cold, sonograms, 14 on 14, new projects, Kane's birthday, and a handful of other things.  I kept with the black/white/gold combo of my cover page.  I also used up a bunch of my sunshine kit cards (thanks to my SIL Kate for those). I cut down pages again and even have one that's 6x12 rather than 9x12.
Something I will change up for Feb is I will likely print these 14 on 14 much smaller. While they tell the story they are not that great of photos.

Next month I also want to use photos taken with my SLR camera.
Last page is all sonogram the prints from the hospital fit perfectly in the sleeves and I just put stickers outside the sleeves (just in case I make that baby book).

2014 Project Life Cover Page

I'm pretty excited to finally have started this year's Project Life.  I actually printed these photos like 1/11 with big plans to make my cover page a few weeks ago.  It never happened.  But I did do a lot of prep-work for 2014 Project Life like pre-printing cards.  I also splatter painted these for fun.   I created a sequin pocket filled with white sparkle sequins sealed closed with washi tape.  This is also a trimmed sleeve sealed with washi as well.  I used some cards from the Sunshine kit.  Added a few Thickers from like 2009, and ribbon and boom it's done, cover page for 2014.  Photos are from our big 12 inch snowstorm day.
Kathleen and I also got a whole bunch of loot at the nearby closing Archiver's which we intend to share to make our 2014 Project Life pages together.  Should be fun!

A few things about my Project Life 2014 –

  • I’m continuing to use the kits and sleeves I already have although I’m not planning on having any be 12x12. It’s just too big and bulky. My cover page is BH PL A sleeve and I just sliced off the last 3 inches. I closed up the open pockets with washi tape and it’s now 12x9. I am thinking this will be my standard go to size however I do know I want to continue to use the baseball card sleeves with the 9 pockets/page these are 8.5x11 and will likely also have some 12x6 pages mixed in there.
  • I have note found an album yet but have put this into just a plain old work binder for safe keeping for now.
  • I’m NOT documenting each week individually. Some weeks are just plain dull, while I might use a print from each week and possibly some notes/story on each week I’m not interested in the 52 weeks it just gets to be too hard to keep up.  Instead I’ll probably have several pages for each month.
  • I went ahead and pre-printed monthly Erika Eagle's calendars for each month, as well as Elise’s quote cards to include throughout the book. Sometimes I’ll alter these, like I did here and sometimes I’ll leave them as is. I think they will help unite the whole book.
  • I hope to find other free printables that work for me to add into the mix. I also hope to keep creating themselves like the Burford, let’s do this and 2014 cards seen here on the cover page. I think they help personalize this a little more.
  • I may decide that I want to do a PL baby book too. Although I don’t mind if PL2014 becomes overwhelmingly baby because our family is changing this year so it’s likely to happen.
