“Twinnies”

The other day my daughter asked if we could get some “twinnies”. I thought at first this was another way of asking for siblings which of course is a hard NO.
But we were at the store?  Specifically in the snack aisle.
So I said “do you see any twinnies?”
She looked around and came back with “twinkies”.  I told her they were called “twinkies” and she again called them “twinnies”.  Well we bought the twinnies.  I am not even sure how she knew what they were since I am pretty sure I thought they discontinued them and I had not had one since way before she was born.
Today she requested she pack her own school snack and she got out her “twinnies” and packed it in a Tupperware because she didn’t want it smooshed up.

I wanted to remember this moment so I am leaving it here.  It reminds me how she always thinks Dolly Parton is Dolly Partment and no matter how we tell her she still insists Dolly Partment is her favorite singer.

(Photo unrelated because I did not take one of her and the twinnies although I should have but she did win the Wiggle Worm award at the cheer banquet which seems fitting for someone who wants Twinnies.)

Preschool Graduate

This little one graduated from preschool last month.  And she’s heading to kindergarten in the fall.  How did that even happen?
This has been one crazy year + and yet here we are ready for elementary school.  She writes most letters, and is sounding out words and counting and her fine motor kids are on point.  She’s fast to make friends.  Can’t wait for this next step but first summer camps.

Also other big milestone - preschool and summer camps are all paid for no more daycare costs for mommy.

19. celebrate Theas Birthday

Oh my little girl turned Three Over the weekend.  She wanted to have a frozen Elsa party so we did.  At the last minute we had to move the party to Pizza Hut basement as my mom was sick and contagious.  I made her an Elsa cake, bought some Elsa party decor, and everyone bought her Elsa presents. She had a wonderful time.  And I followed it up with a surprise trip to Cincinnati for a Ferris Wheel And Carousel ride and night in a hotel.  It was so magical for her. She loved it.  (Also ps the Pizza Hut basement has been remodeled from our 1980-90s party days down there however it was great for a party because we had extra space to play).
Managed to get this family snap where everyone is looking funny.
And Thea was so happy her little bestie karlee came she is her favorite friend from school.
Jones was glad to have Josh come too.  They played ninja turtles under the tables for quite some time.

We also celebrated on her actual birthday with dinner at her favorite Mexican restaurant where her server friends sang to her and she was “mortified”.  She refused to eat the treat they made her.  Oh my.

Happy birthday to my fiesty, kind, generous and spunky girl.

37 - Masha Party for Thea

So here I am 2 months later blogging about Thea’s birthday party!  I threw her a small party invited just some of our close friends and we went for pizza and to this play place called Pogo.  She absolutely loved it and she sang herself happy birthday for weeks afterward.
Thea was super into Masha and the Bear and so I made her a Masha cake and we found her a purple birthday dress.  I also bought her a cash register and a bike for her birthday and some smaller things.
My favorite thing about her turning two was Jones and I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she thought for a minute and then proclaimed "baby jesus!"  She is so funny.    My brother Joe and his wife bought her a baby jesus  - she's such a character.
Thanks to everyone who came.

You are getting taller outgrowing your 18 months clothes and moving right into 2T.

I love how you will declare yourself silly, or dirty, or stinky etc.
You are brave and fearless.
You are finally getting some hair and It’s still blonde.
You have so much energy.
You demand things by declaring “I need I️t”
You can peddle your trike.
You are getting better at going to sleep at bedtime.
You do the opposite of everything I say.
You declare your love for just about everything - stating “I love I️t”

you sing Katy Perry’s “Firework” and think you’re calling herself a firework baby.
You want to wear rain boots everywhere.
You love babies and dress up.
Oh little birdy you grow up so fast.
