Last week was not a good week to travel.  Monday I arrived late Thursday I couldn't even get a flight out to anywhere it was pretty much the same Friday.  I ended up driving home 12.5 hours so I could get home.  That's a great way to start a weekend.  Anyhow I still got my daily snaps in even if they were boring.
Monday - found a craft store called Tinsel Trading it's uber pricey but super cute.
Tuesday - check out this hotel carpet
Wednesday -typography at some store
Thursday - another crazy cabbie
Friday - part of my extra long drive home.
Saturday - we had 4 small house guests including this cutie.
Sunday - look at how my garden grows.

Movie - The Great Gatsby

I hadn't been to the movies in ages but I am a sucker for period movies and movies written from books.  So I took myself to see the new gatsby.  Which I must say I enjoyed thoroughly even at the $19 price tag to see it in NYC.  I enjoyed Toby McGuire especially as well as myrtle and Jordan characters even though they were smaller parts.  My only complaint was the party scenes might have been a bit much - but I did love how the blended in new music with the 20s jazz and the camera work was very interesting.  Anyhow it was a good movie worth a trip to the theater for and now I am waiting on my invitation to a party in east egg.

Project Life weeks 15-17

Getting caught up on project life this is from our honeymoon and the week after. We had like 200 honeymoon photos so I just picked a few of my favorites I blew one up because I have been wanting to do that for a while on a project life page. I also used my printer for a change up on the titles for week 15 & 16 - man does that make things easy too. All three weeks went together super fast and I love them. I am excited to be moving to another binder soon. Nothing terribly fancy on these pages although I used a bunch of giant sequins I cut into hearts and stapled for week 15.

Last week was my fourth week in a row on the road and I am not really enjoying this time. Last week it rained hard rain which made it worse. I have glimpses of enjoyable moments but its hard wanting to be gone Monday thru Thursday every week. I am sick to death of eating out and I don't really really want to have another bellhop or hotel desk attendant ask me how I am each time I walk thru the lobby. I really need to stop complaining and just suck it up my life is not that bad. Again I feel like I need an attitude adjustment to get out of this groove. But I am over 1/3 of the way thru this project and I still snap at least one photo a day.
Anyhow here are a few of the snaps from this last week.
Monday - Under the Manhattan Bridge
Tuesday - weights at the gym
Wednesday - Rockefeller Center in panorama
Thursday - late night date with my husband at Bakersfield (ps Bakersfield is overhyped)
Friday - baby naming for miriam
Saturday - Dust feeding baby Hadley (isn't that priceless)
Sunday - Mother's Day with my mom.

#21 Bike Ride

Yup that's right went for a bike ride yesterday!  Discovered that probably all the bikes we have need to be services but rode through a 2 mile ride anyhow.  The chain proceeded to pop off my bike right after we got back to the house so that was good.  Hoping to get more riding in before the summer is up so I better get these serviced.  We also made it back just before the torrential downpour - huzzah!

Book 17 - The Friday Night Knitting Club

I just finished the Friday Night Knitting Club while waiting at the airport the other day.  Let me start out by saying - I really should stop taking people's book suggestions.  This book was anything but my type of book aside from the fact the characters were crafting.   I'm not really into fiction especially when it's written like a soap opera.  I thought many of the characters in the book where whiners especially the little girl.  I think every soap opera plot possible was wrapped into this one, cancer, cheating men, interracial relationships, runaways, unwed mothers, death - blah!  Not my thing but oh well I crossed another book off the list of 52.  I hear they are making this into a movie which I can only assume will be a hallmark or lifetime movie - yay for Saturday morning sap!  Anyhow if you like fiction that is like a soap opera by all means read this one, if not skip it and re-read Detroit a Biography.

Lets Get Married - Homemade Burlap Roses

I am not entirely sure why I thought making flowers for our wedding would be easy or would be a good idea.  But I did it anyway - I ended up having to make almost 50 of these burlap roses and they took way too long.   I love how they turned out anyway, and even though  they were used for like 1 hour each day it probably wasn't my best decision, but they were pretty and they will last forever so everyone can save them.  Oh and did I mention they use about $6 worth of burlap, $6 worth of ribbon and $6 for the cones, leaves and baby's breath $6 so for $24 I had all the wedding flowers.  So they saved us money.
The flowers are made by cutting petals, coating them in glue, and rolling and forming them into roses one by one,  They are sewn together so they would hold, and I inserted a floral wires that is the stem and I already had the wire in my craft stash.  Some 48 flowers later I had enough flowers.  I finished them off by arranging them in a floral cone added ribbon and a few leaves.  The boutineers were very simple one rose a leaf, and a little baby's breath - they were pinned on with a straight pin very simple.  (Just a few more wedding posts.)
