Vintage Baseball - World Tournament

This past weekend we traveled to Dearborn, Michigan for the World Series of Vintage Baseball.  This is much fun around here because this tournament at Greenfield Village is bracket play and one loss moves you to reserve bracket and two and you are out out.  Kathleen joined the Rooster and I because she's as big of a vintage baseball fan as we are.  She and I even made matching hoodies.
The Blues started out the tournament strong beating out the nationals.  Rooster hit some pretty sweet hits to start off the day as well.  Kathleen and I also started out the day right by getting lectured from the ref about our loud cheering.
The blues then played the Columbus Capitals in a nail biting game - where the Blue led right up to the 8th inning.  It was a hard loss.

Then the Blue moved to the Reserve championship bracket and had to play the Lah De Dahs which they won rounding out the first day of baseball.  After the games we all went out for pizza, pool and ping pong.

Sunday the Blues started out the morning with another Match up against the Nationals.  It was another nail biting game in which Hawkeye hit the go ahead runner in in the 10th inning with a power hit that would have been a Homerun in normal baseball.  It was quite priceless especially coming off Hawkeyes dry hitting spell.

Then the in the Reserve Championship finals the Blues were neck and neck with the Unknowns for most of the game, although the blues carried a slight lead, but were tied up going into the last inning.  Again the last inning rabbit hit the go ahead runner in to give the blues the reserve championship title.  Huzzah!
Throughout the day people around us kept commenting on how "surprised" they were that the Blues did as well as they were (those folks should just keep their mouths shut clearly they just don't know how good the Blues are).  Although one of the players on the nationals told me a nice compliment about Rooster so that made it better.  Anyhow it was a good weekend and its always nice to come home with a piece of "hardware" and in vintage baseball terms that means fancy pottery.  Huzzah!  We look forward to the next big tournaments.

Summer is escaping I feel and I barely feel like it was here.  It was super nice Monday-Thursday and we didn't even use the a/c.  I was able to run every day last week and that was good too although my times were horrible, it was still exercise.  I also took almost no photos all week probably because I worked late most of the week.  But I still got at least one a day.
Monday - brewing a little tea (I have not had soda for two weeks today)
Tuesday - from my run.
Wednesday - babysitting baby porter.  He's a cutie!
Thursday - another run photo.
Friday - roadtrip to Michigan
Saturday - we were in Detroit with the Indianapolis Blues, we all went out together after the game and I got to play a little ping pong with the mister.  (Ps for the record I am just as dreadful at ping pong as I am with many sports)
Saturday - The Blues took the Reserve Championship bracket at the World Series of vintage baseball.  It was a nail biting day of games but it was so much fun.  More about that later.

WyliePalooza Ice Cream Emporium

I have a new favorite ice cream spot in Indy.  Lately everything has been all about the soft serve with all these yogurt places popping up here and there.  Well I myself am a fan of hard ice cream.  Yep that's right.  If I get to pick I would pick a hard ice cream over soft any day.  I also don't give a hoot about chocolate ice cream but all that is another story.  So we found this place in Irvington called WyliePalooza Ice Cream Emporium.  That serves hard ice cream (and bubble tea).  Oh and did I mention its good?  I got their mint chocolate chip explosion (or whatever it was called) and peanut butter cookie dough (pbcd). Two scoops was way too much but the pbcd was scrumptious and the mint was also good.  Dusty had a coffee and peanut butter shake which he enjoyed as well.
The place is also super cute and has a little shop that sells all kinds of fun things, and has a pinball machine.
Anyhow if you are in Irvington you should pop in and check them out.

This was my third week home.  We are in a groove with me being home so that is nice.
Monday - we went to Dicks Last Resort, which could now be my LEAST favorite restaurant in Indy.  The prankster bit about the service was fine but the food horrible.
Tuesday - an apple seen on my daily run.
Wednesday - Eggplant.  This was day 2 of our fruit and veggie 3 day cleanse.  Eggplant is NOT my thing.
Thursday -  this is my to do list from the week.  Can anyone tell how I follow this?
Friday - I went to girls night at Dustin's sisters -baby Elizabeth was there (she is Dustin's cousins baby).  She is such a good and adorable baby.
Saturday - Bethany's birthday at the lake.
Sunday - found our new favorite ice cream spot in Indy WyliePalooza this might have been our 25th date night too.

Project Life Week 27

We spent the entire week 27 in NYC together.  Celebrating my birthday, going out with my coworkers, soaking up the heat of the city.  It was the forth of July as well however we didn't really seem patriotic even in NYC so this layout reflects that.
I let the photos and the paper bits I saved tell most of this weeks story.  I also used some chipboard letters, project Life honey and Seafoam cards, and a date Smash stamp to add a little detail.  This might be a super simple layout but I like it.

213/365

My second consecutive week at home.  Dustin and I getting to spend more time together than we have since our honeymoon and its glorious and challenging all the same.  It's also been good to be with my people. I think last week I had more date nights with my girls than my husband.  I got to go to trivia, have people over, and work on things around the house.
Monday - cup of tea with milk.
Tuesday - my work from home look (I even put my contacts in on this day)
Wednesday - people mover date with Amy.  Yes we made a special date to ride the people mover we played cards, ate dinner on the people mover, and just enjoyed ourselves.  Pretty much awesome part was it was free, it is ridiculously clean and it has the best views.  (This experience makes me want to vomit seeing the NYC subways)
Thursday -date night with Kathleen we went and got our nails done and then we found this joint TJs with seriously the best burger in town.
Friday - date night with my husband.  We  went to Bloomington had a delicious Italian meal followed up with some ice cream.  Just for the record in my "old age" I am finding a strong dislike for soft serve ice cream
Saturday - eagle creek beach with Amy (my hair stunk from working in the kitchen in the morning thus the scarf)
Sunday - baseball with my husband, the blues played for a fundraiser for Kiwanis. They won the trophy which Dustin finds awesome.

Project Life Week 28

Its true most of my posts lately have been project life related.  maybe soon i will have something else to share but in the meantime.  i love the simplicity of this one.  I used mostly cards from cinnamon Becky Higgins project Life kit, ribbon, and super super old Heidi Swapp ghost letters (who remembers those?).  Oh and I used leftover wedding fuchsia corragated card stock.
This week was again all about the weekend.  I only include one photo from NYC the first of the week - my $9 strawberries.  This also marked like the second weekend in a row where Dustin worked thru the weekend - so he is absent from the photos.  We even went to see the blues without him.

Project Life Week 26

Here is project Life week 26.  I LOVE this project even if my pages seem boring.  it might be my favorite way to document aside from Blogging.
I used one of the Becky Higgins kits Angie and I swapped for this one.   I cut a few of the cards for something different.
The first part of the week I was in NYC I worked late a bunch, read bossy pants, and went to an art exhibit.  The weekend was all about my birthday. I had a surprise scavenger hunt and ridiculous time going to the fireworks.  I saved all the clues from the hunt and put them into the pockets.  I even did a little journaling about my awesome friends.
All these pages are pretty simple PL cards + journaling + sticker letters.  I did use some of some KI Lace it reminded me about how much I LOVE KI so I have dug out some old KI so watch for that to appear soon in PL.

Project Life Week 25

Week 25 is proof I do very little through the week sometimes and it's all about the weekend.  I used 2 photos from my week in NYC then the rest is the weekend.   I did a little sewing, added in some dollies, leftover negative scrap cutouts from PL 2012 and old sticker letters to finish this week.  I also used some of my project life kits.  For some reason I save the pieces of the kits for later instead of using them up.  I am going to work on using them up more.  Some photos are vertical and some horizontal but I am okay with that.

Best of Life Videos - April 2013

Guess what time it is?  I finally finished the video for April.  Yes just 4 months behind but better late than never.  Rather than make the entire video of our wedding I wanted to just include the wedding and use other events as well - we'll make a wedding video later.  Song is our wedding song - God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes.  If you can't see it here on the blog you can check it out here on Youtube.
