This weekend was the 500 festival parade. And we packed up chairs and plenty of water and headed out to it. It was 95 degrees which is probably one of the hottest parades - but nobody from our group passed out from heat stroke.
we saw Jim Nabors and Florence Henderson - fellow Hoosiers
and rolling clowns
and the gordon pipers and highland high schools last parade ever (the school is closing)
and fancy floats
and giant balloons
and the briefcase and suit brigade - they actually march and stomp along
i danced in the street with mom (
which is #42 on my list but I'm going to do this one again)
and saw racing seahorses
and superR silly hats
as well as the worlds largest drum
and tuba plays from purdue
we got some shade from golf umbrellas
made sure to drink plenty o'water
then we lunched - at pf changs
someone ate prongs
someone else pineapple
someone else with this chopstix - look at that fanciness
and our total bill was $20 for the tip as Steve and Dick Dudley gave us a fantastic gift certificate for the whole family - you can't beat that - thank you Steve and Dick.
while we waiting for the "valet" schreve posed for a photo with momo - I think this is one for the wall love it.
the end

Looks like such a fun filled day! Wish I were able to go. I'll plan better for next year.
we didn't know Jim Nabors was still alive and you got to see him! Looks like you guys had a great time!
he sings at the 500 every year - he has been really sick but he rebounded.
